Questions and answers
Everything you need to know about the Sunkoma map.
What is Sunkoma and who is it for?
Sunkoma is an interactive map of countries for people choosing where to move or travel. Each country has salaries, prices, safety, climate, visas, citizenship and places worth seeing, and the For living and For travel scores help you compare countries quickly.
Where does the data on salaries, prices and safety come from?
From open sources: the World Bank, exchange rates, visa rule databases, foreign ministry travel advice and others. Some values are our own estimates and are marked as such. Sources and dates are listed at the bottom of each country card.
How often is the data updated?
Economic indicators, exchange rates and visa rules update automatically once a week. We update the Safety now block whenever something happens in a country.
What do the For living and For travel scores mean?
They are numbers from 0 to 100: higher is better. For living weighs salaries, prices, safety, healthcare and climate; For travel weighs safety, budget, places and season. Wars, unrest and other dangers lower the score.
What does full access give and how much does it cost?
Detailed statistics for every country, the living guide, routes, all places and unlimited Been here flags. It is a single payment with no subscription; the exact price is shown in the payment window.
How do I pay, and can I get a refund?
Payment is in cryptocurrency via NOWPayments. Access opens as soon as the payment is confirmed, so payments are not refunded, except when access did not open through our fault or you were charged twice. See the Refunds section of the site documents.
How do I find out if I need a visa?
Choose your passport at the top of the site (My passport). Countries will be coloured by the visa rules for you, and each country card will show whether you need a visa and how many days you can stay.
What does the Safety now block mean?
It warns about what is happening in a country right now: wars, unrest, terrorism, epidemics and natural disasters. Levels are Caution, High risk and War. Always check your own government's travel advice before a trip too.
How do I mark the countries I have visited?
Sign in, open a country and tap the flag in its card. Without full access you can mark up to 10 countries. Your flags show on the globe and in your profile.
I forgot my password. What should I do?
In the sign-in window tap Forgot password?: a code will be sent to your account email, then enter it with a new password. If no email is linked to your account, write to us.
How do I delete my account?
Open your profile and choose Delete account. The account is switched off immediately and deleted permanently after 30 days. Until then you can restore it by simply signing in with the same login and password.
